| Since forming five years ago from the ashes of Earworn Records veterans Magnetic North Pole, Thee Moths have expanded and reduced their line up as needed. Their longest formation consisted of Alex Botten and Dominique Ferraton, during which time they released two albums - "The Need" and "A Small Glass Ghost". Thee Moths is now mainly just Alex, recruiting collaborators for specific projects on a much more ad hoc basis than previously. Their trademark mixture of energetic fuzz pop and gentle alt-folk has won widespread praise, and continues to evolve with every recording to become more complex and ambitious. They are frequently compared to bands such as The Microphones, Belle and Sebastian and Minotaur Shock, with vary degrees of accuracy, while their boundless enthusiasm and prolific work-rate has seen their stature rise as more people are wooed by their unusual charms. |
