Anna Kashfi are Sian Webley (vocals, percussion), James Youngjohns (guitars, keyboards, viola), Sarah Kemp (violin, mandolin, glockenspiel) and Peter Martin (bass, guitar, analogue synths). After several self-released records, Anna Kashfi joined Manchester-based vinyl-only label Emma's House Recordings, releasing the acclaimed mini-album "Philokalia". Warmly received by publications as diverse as Record Collector and Metro newspaper, as well as gaining national and international radio play, "Philokalia" established Anna Kashfi at the forefront of Manchester's alt.country scene. After the sad winding-up of Emma's House, Stolenwine were pleased to offer Anna Kashfi a new home, releasing "Lakeside Call" in mid-2004, and following it by recording sessions for BBC 6 Music, BBC GMR and Channel M. Their fantastic new album, "Palisade", is out soon.
